About Laura Camacho:  Composer, bassist, and the founder of Athens Tango Project, Laura Camacho is currently a Ph. D. student in ethnomusicology at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas Austin. Camacho’s connection to tango began in her hometown of Buenos Aires, where she first experienced the music and dance while spending time with her grandmother in the historic neighborhood of San Telmo. She later studied at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory and performed with celebrated Argentine musicians, including Mariano Mores. Her current research focuses on emerging tango communities and the cultural exchange of tango between Argentina and the United States.

About Adam Carney: Adam Carney lives and works in Austin, Texas as a full time musician, composer and guitar instructor.  He performs as a soloist and in collaboration with a number of wonderful musicians, including groups such as Caros Amigos, Hora Once and The Violet Crown Affair. Adam Carney has recorded as a soloist and collaborated with many other artists on projects and albums, including the 2007 Swing Jazz album Gypsy Moon, Adam’s first solo harp guitar album Elizabeth in 2009, the award winning Nuevo Tango album Libertango with the Austin Piazzolla Quintet in 2011, and the 2016 self-titled Nuevo Tango/Latin Folk music album Hora Once. He is currently working on his 5th studio album with Austin-based Choro group, Caros Amigos

About Emmanuel Trifilio: International bandoneonist and prolific tango composer, Argentinian Emmanuel Trifilio brings a fresh perspective to the traditional tango sound, both in performance and composition.  Now based in Washington, D.C., Sr. Trifilio’s career began as bandoneon soloist at venues such as the famous Cafe Tortoni in Buenos Aires. After establishing himself as an accomplished performer in Argentina, he was invited to join the Los Inmigrantes Tango Orchestra, which soon after won Buenos Aires’s annual tango orchestra contest. Sr. Trifilio’s career expanded across South America when he was invited to tour Chile with Maestro Tato Finocci.
